Position Overview Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) – System Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team, Saint Charles, MO. Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a senior systems engineer to work closely with other Phantom Works entities and industry partners to design, integrate and field advanced aircraft architectures and vehicle designs. This role will shape system requirements, guide integration and verification activities, and influence architecture that must meet operational needs. Position Responsibilities Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system-of-systems and system solutions. Implement analysis and modeling in MSoSA/Cameo or similar. Lead others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Provide coaching and training in MSoSA (or similar) to early‑career Systems Engineers. Lead analyses to optimize total system-of-systems and/or system architecture. Lead analyses that may include affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialty quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Lead, develop, maintain and identify improvements to the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements‑management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance post‑start is required. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 6+ years of systems engineering experience. Experience in system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience developing system architectures for complex aerospace vehicles or subsystems using MBSE (SysML/MSOSA). Demonstrated experience developing system architectures utilizing modular design. Demonstrated experience leading/contributing to system engineering technical reviews. Prior leadership in system architecture or lead systems engineering roles; experience communicating architectural tradeoffs to stakeholders and customers. Understanding of various engineering analyses, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialty quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Familiarity with aircraft/flight systems and domain‑specific engineering (ME, EE, SW) to evaluate integration impacts.
