Surgical Technologist Lead Job Responsibilities:

• The Surgical Technologist Lead acts as a clinical leader and resource in an Inova Operating Room (OR). Assists OR Service Leader to ensure unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO standards. Assists the OR Service Leader in analyzing data, ensuring team adherence to performance standards, and improving processes continuously.
• Provides mentoring to the OR team. Works collaboratively and has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses and demonstrates clinical expertise in the assessment of staff learning needs, capabilities, and readiness.
• Demonstrates superior knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques in the role of surgical technologist. Serves as primary liaison and information resource for specialty.
• Oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic, evidence-based environment that produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes.
• Supports the OR Service Leader's goals. Interacts with and contributes to the professional growth of Surgical Tech team members, colleagues, and others.
• Ensures efficient functioning of the specialty service and achievement of optimal patient outcomes.

Surgical Technologist Lead Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience
• Certification: Basic Life Support Upon Start; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C) via NCCT
• Licensure: State of Virginia Registered Surgical Technologist - Upon Start
