Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN General)

Administers nursing care within scope of practice as set forth in relevant regulations under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed healthcare provider. Provides general nursing, direct care, and programming assistance. Takes patient vital signs and assists with personal grooming and hygiene. Administers topical ointments and solutions. Repositions patients and responds to patient alarms. Makes medical appointments for patients and assists with recreational activities. Maintains medication accountability records and documents patient conditions. Observes, documents, and reports patient conditions, including medication reactions and treatment responses. Orders medication and medical supplies and performs clerical tasks as needed. Cleans nursing stations and medication areas to maintain a safe environment. Provides assistance, work direction, and training to lower-level direct care staff. Participates in various meetings and in-service training programs as assigned. Demonstrates the strength to move, reposition, or restrain patients as necessary.
