TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Martinsburg, West Virginia, 25401!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NIHSS Must-Have: PALS and TNCC preferred Description: The unit has 20 beds with an average daily census of around 16-17 patients. They can designate 6 rooms for COVID patients if needed. Ratios are 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3 for stepdown. This unit supports stepdown needs for the facility. Nurse aides may include nursing students and externs for observation. There is a designated charge nurse available 24/7. The charge nurse responds to all rapid responses and codes. The hospital does not use monitor techs; data flows directly to the charting system. Registered Nurses will manage alarms after notification from respiratory therapy. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. There is a pharmacy service in-house 24/7. Shifts are scheduled in advance using a scheduling system. Traveling staff typically do not float outside of the ICU. Common diagnoses include post-cath lab patients and balloon pump management. Open heart surgeries are not performed in this unit. The team prioritizes core staff for certain advanced procedures. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shift cancellations. Charting is done through an electronic medical record system. The position requires completion of nursing duties in a high-acuity setting.
