FOOD SERVICE UTILITY (PART TIME)

We have a part‑time FOOD SERVICE UTILITY opening at the American Museum of Natural History, 200 Central Park West, 79th Street, New York, NY 10024. Schedule: Part‑time; days and hours may vary. Application process does not accept in‑person applications. Payment ranges from $22.50 to $23.50 per hour. Requirement: Previous cleaning and restocking experience is required. Key Responsibilities Sweep and mop floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards. Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food‑prep surfaces. Remove trash and dispose it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans. Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas. Assist with banquet table and front‑of‑the‑house set‑up. Assist with loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and products. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed. Comply with outlined sanitation and safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Safety & Equipment Requirements Use medium weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer. Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steamtables. Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
