Director, Life Cycle Assessment & Product Stewardship

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Director of Life Cycle Assessment and Product Stewardship to lead technical execution of product carbon footprints and life cycle assessments. The role involves developing strategy, building digital tools, embedding environmental footprinting into product decisions, and serving as the company's subject-matter expert in this emerging capability.

Responsibilities

Serve as Bristol Myers Squibb's subject-matter expert and strategic lead for LCAs and PCFs
Build, execute, and critically review cradle-to-gate and cradle-to-grave LCAs that are audit-ready and third-party-verifiable
Develop internal operating model including governance, methodologies, digital tools, and data-management systems
Own product carbon footprint technology implementation and guide the Watershed platform on tool design and data quality
Translate external product-stewardship regulations into executable internal programs and workflows

Requirements

Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, industrial ecology, or related field
10+ years hands-on experience delivering cradle-to-grave LCAs and product carbon footprints in industrial settings
Fluency in ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, and GHG Protocol Product Standard governing standards
Proficiency with LCA software (SimaPro, GaBi) and lifecycle inventory databases (ecoinvent)
Demonstrated ability to produce third-party-verifiable PCFs/LCAs meeting audit standards
Experience operationalizing product stewardship or environmental regulations in regulated industries
Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to translate technical results for non-technical stakeholders

Compensation: $179,300 - $239,001 base (depending on location)
