Grounds Control of Huntsville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent with a background as a Field Engineer, specializing in site work. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, with a focus on site preparation, earthwork, and infrastructure development. Responsibilities: Manage and supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution. Oversee site preparation, earthwork, grading, excavation, and utility installations. Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and identify any potential issues or delays. Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve conflicts and address any changes or modifications to the project scope. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports. If required, pre-qualify and hire all field labor. Manage all field labor to accomplish designated tasks. Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, including subcontractors and field staff. Ensure that all work is completed according to industry standards and best practices. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication. Review and evaluate all subcontracts and vendor purchase orders prepared by the Project Manager. Enforce jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and project Safety Program. Requirements: Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent with a specialization in site work, dirt, and infrastructure development. Background as a Field Engineer is highly desirable. Solid understanding of construction processes, techniques, and regulations. Strong knowledge of site preparation, earthwork, grading, and utility installations. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with various stakeholders. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations OSHA 30 Hour preferred. If not current, to receive within the first year of employment and keep current. Proficient in project management software and tools. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
