SOX Audit & Data Governance Lead

Introduction

The role is accountable for designing, governing, and certifying financial data completeness and reconciliation controls across the end-to-end data pipeline. It serves as the authoritative bridge between engineering, finance, and audit, translating complex distributed-system behaviors into auditable, deterministic SOX controls. The role ensures that incomplete or inconsistent data is systematically detected, resolved, and prevented from impacting financial reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7 Years experience in SOX controls, financial data governance, and audit frameworks.
• Deep understanding of data pipelines, distributed systems, and ingestion patterns.
• Experience designing reconciliation, certification, and gating controls for financial systems.
• Ability to translate technical system states into auditable control logic.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner/Professional.
• Familiarity with write-ahead logs / manifests, Bronze/Silver/Gold data layer concepts, and dataset certification and control metadata.
• Ability to reason about partial failure, late data, and idempotency from a control perspective.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the three-party reconciliation model spanning agent local store, Bronze data layer, and write-ahead manifest/control ledger.
• Co-own the x_DatasetCompleteness certification logic and SAP GL posting gate that enforces completeness controls.
• Act as the primary control owner for SOX audits related to data completeness, reconciliation, and financial ingestion.
• Partner with platform and data engineering teams, finance and controllership, and risk, compliance, and internal audit on control validation.
