Associate Veterinarian

Job Description

Job Description

Looking for a veterinary team where you can enjoy practicing medicine, keep growing your skills, and actually look forward to coming to work?

If you're ready for a change from a demanding schedule or want a supportive environment to build your confidence as a veterinarian, this opportunity in Southern Indiana deserves a closer look. You'll care for dogs and cats alongside experienced colleagues, with room to develop your clinical interests and flexibility to shape your professional growth.

Whether you're an experienced DVM looking for a long-term fit or a recent graduate who wants guidance without being rushed into every procedure, this role offers a compelling combination of teamwork, clinical variety, and time outside the practice.

What You'll Find Here

• A schedule with breathing room: Enjoy a four-day workweek, no on-call responsibilities, and Sundays off.
• Support as you develop: Learn through collaborative case discussions and guidance from experienced veterinarians.
• Surgery isn't a dealbreaker: You can focus on your strengths without surgery being a requirement, while still having opportunities to develop surgical skills if you're interested.
• A team that shares knowledge: Work with veterinary technicians and support staff who help keep patient care moving efficiently.
• Freedom to explore your interests: Build experience in dentistry, diagnostics, preventive medicine, and soft tissue surgery at a pace suited to your goals.
• A workplace built for veterinary care: Access modern diagnostic and dental imaging, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a small animal general practice focused on companion animal wellness, preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment. You'll build relationships with pet owners while managing a variety of medical cases and collaborating with colleagues on treatment decisions. Dentistry and soft tissue surgery are available, but surgical participation can depend on your interests and experience.

Who Might Love This

• New graduates seeking hands-on learning and ongoing mentorship.
• Experienced DVMs who value collaboration and a sustainable schedule.
• Medicine-focused veterinarians who prefer not to make surgery a central part of their role.

• Clinicians who enjoy client relationships and want to keep expanding their skills.

The Basics

• Schedule: Full-time, four-day workweek, flexible scheduling, rotating Saturdays, Sundays off.
• Experience: New graduates and experienced veterinarians welcome.
• Compensation: Base salary plus production incentives.
• Additional incentives: Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
• Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; PTO; CE allowance and paid CE time; retirement plan; professional dues and licensing reimbursement; paid parental leave; pet care discounts.

A Little About the Area

Southern Indiana offers a quieter community setting with access to the restaurants, entertainment, and cultural amenities of a nearby major metro area. It's an appealing option for veterinarians who want outdoor recreation and a little more room to settle in without giving up access to city life.
