Company Overview The Office of the Chief Legal Officer at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) provides dedicated legal support in the areas of litigation, corporate transactions, compliance, advice and counseling, and governmental affairs. We support CAA’s needs when it comes to commercial, talent agency and employment laws, among other legal areas. CAA’s Legal Operations team plays an important part in managing the agency’s processes for client onboarding, immigration proceedings, and commissions, as well as commercial transactions involving CAA generally. The Senior Paralegal – Legal Operations role supports all aspects of the Company’s operational matters, negotiates various commercial and vendor agreements, and supports general departmental matters. The Senior Paralegal will strategically provide efficient and high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders, implement commercial transaction and service policies in a rapidly‑growing and fast paced Company, and support the business needs of the Company, its clients and its employees. Position Overview The Senior Paralegal – Legal Operations will report to the Head of Legal Operations and/or other senior members within the Office of the Chief Legal Officer. The Senior Paralegal will review, negotiate and draft various commercial and vendor agreements, independent contractor and consulting agreements, and support the legal aspects of agency relations generally in other areas, on an as‑needed basis. The Senior Paralegal’s tasks will vary, but day‑to‑day responsibilities will include the following: Key Responsibilities Draft and distribute master service agreements (MSAs), non‑disclosure agreements (NDAs), Location Agreements, Speaker Releases and other operational‑related agreements. Redline and run comparisons on various documents. Procure and distribute electronic signatures on agreements through e‑signature applications (Adobe, DocuSign, etc.). Maintain a detailed tracking database for all reviewed and issued agreements. E‑file a high volume of documents and correspondence on a regular basis. Collaborate and work effectively with other senior paralegals in the department. Assist on special projects as needed. Provide timely and time‑sensitive information and guidance on commercial and vendor agreements. Demonstrate extensive negotiation skills with respect to commercial and vendor agreements. Demonstrate learning agility and adaptability; be able to improve and evolve approach, systems or strategies where necessary. Effectively handle multiple projects at once. Qualifications 8+ years of experience with drafting and negotiating contracts. 3‑4 years of experience in a fast paced, demanding environment. Bachelor’s degree required. Paralegal certificate required. Superior communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). Proficiency in e‑signature applications (Adobe, DocuSign, etc.). Key Attributes Attention to detail and sense of urgency. Ability to address and respond to colleagues’ needs and issues quickly without compromising accuracy or attention to detail. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with executives and senior paralegals in the department. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, and take initiative. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and with sensitivity. Ability to manage multiple on‑going matters at once by multi‑tasking and prioritizing tasks effectively. Ability to organize, analyze, summarize and communicate complex or voluminous information. Ability to solve problems and offer proactive solutions in a creative, compliant and professional manner. Ability to work in a dynamic organization, relate to clients and colleagues, show empathy while delivering customer service, and build relationships with others within the organization to facilitate increased communication and efficiency. Have a positive, can‑do attitude and work collaboratively within a team environment and with other colleagues. Have a thick skin to handle large personalities. Proficient in e‑signature applications (i.e., Adobe, DocuSign). Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Recognize contractual issues and identify the appropriate actions to be taken. Location This isanon‑site role based out of our Los Angeles office. Compensation The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $50.00 - $65.00. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.
