Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Mason City, Iowa 50401 - On-site

Pay: $53.07 per hour

Type: Contract | On-site

Shift: 8:00 - 16:30, 4 Days/10 Hours, 40 Hours per week. Will consider 4-10 hour days or 4 9-hour days.

Note: Non-local candidates only. Candidate must reside at least 60 miles from the facility.

Job Summary

We are seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care in an acute care hospital setting. The RT will assess, treat, and monitor patients with breathing disorders across multiple care units, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with respiratory conditions including COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and post-surgical respiratory compromise
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation for ICU and acute care patients
• Perform PAP device setups, bronchodilator therapy, airway suctioning, and chest physiotherapy
• Conduct and interpret pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid response calls, and code blue situations
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Valid state licensure or eligibility in Iowa
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of acute care respiratory therapy experience
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility - local candidates will not be considered
