About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in a high-volume Emergency Room - Experience with Level II trauma preferred - Ability to lead and foster teamwork in the Emergency Room Description: This position involves working in an Emergency Room with a capacity of 28 beds, including 4 fast-track beds and 2 trauma bays. The nurse will be responsible for providing acute care to a diverse population, including trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients. The expected patient ratio is 1 to 4. Candidates must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of work. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Holiday requests will be considered but are not guaranteed. The charge nurse will not take patient assignments but will oversee unit operations. Nurse aides and EMTs will assist with technical duties. Daily patient volume is approximately 155 patients. The nursing staff will utilize Cerner for electronic medical records. The hospital has 24/7 Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage available. The respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are also available 24/7. Call duty is required once a month, with potential for additional days based on the schedule. Shifts are self-scheduled by seniority and made out at least 2 weeks in advance. Candidates should have experience working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes collaboration and teamwork among staff to improve patient care. Only candidates with travel experience and relevant specialty experience will be considered.
