Job Opportunity

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Commitment: Candidates must be fully committed to the role. Cancellations will result in a DNR status. Every other weekend is required, or more depending on unit needs.

Qualifications

• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, MAB, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC*, CPI or MAB accepted
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role with charge experience preferred.
• Charting System Experience: Preferred experience with Meditech.
• Patient Experience: Familiarity with management of diverse patient demographics including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

• General Emergency Department experience (Combined Adult/Pedi)
• Level II Trauma Center experience
• STEMI and Stroke certification facility experience
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Obtain and interpret 12 lead EKGs
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Phlebotomy and IV management
• Administer emergency medications and IV vasopressors
• Procedural sedation administration
• CVA and ICP monitoring
• Neuro-Trauma and spinal cord injury management
• Traumatic brain injury and gunshot wound care
• CPAP/BiPAP management
• Isolation precautions and triage
• Manage psychiatric conditions, including acute psychosis and suicidal patients
• Chest tube insertion and management
• Securing patient safety through management of violent behavior

Unit Information

Daily Census: 200 patients

Number of Beds: 32

Interdisciplinary Support: Includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.

Assignment Expectations

Floating may be required based on facility needs. Travelers should expect to float to DOU within their scope of practice.

Pre-Start Requirements

Annual modules are required and vary by profession, with an average completion time of 6 hours.
