The Opportunity

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about hospitality and possess a keen attention to detail to join our Front Office team as a Hotel Assistant Manager.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Manages the staff at the Front Office (Front Desk, Guest Services and Concierge).
• Interviews, trains and schedules staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.
• Coordinates arrivals, departures and billing requirements with Sales and Catering Department.
• Blocks rooms for arrivals and ensures any discrepancies are resolved. Reviews daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of Special Attention Guests, Return Guests, and Groups.
• Monitor and assess revenue opportunities for the hotel, maximize red date conversion and keeps team on track to meet Upsell Goal.
• Establish training and accountability within the team to achieve high results above benchmarks.
• Assures that all financial and credit procedures are followed. Follows up on credit problems with Front Office Manager and/or Credit Manager. Reviews all paid-outs, rebates, Petty Cash disbursements and Direct Billings. Checks cashiers' work at end of shift to ensure all transactions are re conciled with proper approvals and endorsements.
• Will answer guest calls and direct them appropriately in the absence of a Hotel Communications Agent.

Non-Essential Functions of the Job:

• Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in the areas of the Concierge, Bell Staff and lobby coverage.
• Provides basic trouble-shooting support for in-room services such as Internet, TV movies, games, and Web service.
• Works closely with Door/Bell Staff to ensure smooth handling of guest luggage, deliveries and special requests.
• Work closely with Concierge team to ensure that all guest special requests and needs are met and customized to their preferences.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• College degree in Hospitality preferred.
• 2-3 years luxury hotel, supervisory experience.
• Computer literate
• Superior guest service and salesmanship skills
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Detail oriented focus
• Proven leader
• Strong managerial and supervisory skills.
• Experience with computers and knowledge of key front office PMS is a must
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
