Senior Tax Analyst Operations - BSC (Hybrid)

Primary Purpose The Senior Tax Analyst will work closely with team members to support Exelon’s tax life cycle, which involves a wide range of responsibilities including accounting, compliance, forecasting, and regulatory reporting. This role will also involve technical analysis, including research and drafting documentation. Primary Duties Support the interim and annual tax accounting process to ensure accurate and timely reporting for both income taxes and taxes other than income taxes (TOTIT). This includes preparing and documenting supporting calculations and tax accounting positions. Support the tax compliance function to ensure accurate and timely reporting, preparing federal and state income tax calculations, income tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and responding to notices from taxing authorities. Also researching and documenting income tax positions, and preparing TOTIT return filings. Support the financial tax forecasting process to ensure accurate and timely reporting, preparing projected income tax and TOTIT obligations, and scenario modeling. Support the regulatory filing process to ensure accurate and timely reporting, preparing rate case filings, regulatory deliverables, and responses to regulatory data requests. Independently research complex tax issues to determine appropriate tax treatment and related reporting, preparing written memorandums and technical presentations. Proactively identify, drive, and implement process improvements to promote risk management, streamline activities, and enhance transparency in tax work streams. Participate in project planning and support special projects, including implementation of new technologies, and pursue innovation opportunities. Job Scope This position will be based at the Tax Department’s headquarters in Chicago. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other financial discipline. 4 years or more of professional tax experience focusing on large, publicly traded companies in a corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or law firm. Ability to perform intermediate level legal research. Working knowledge of all major areas of federal and state tax law. Proficient analytical ability to resolve complex, technical issues. Proficient writing and communication skills. Assumes personal ownership for developing tax technical and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Energy industry experience is desirable, though not at the expense of a broad base of experience. Certified Public Accountant or other financial certification and/or advanced degree (JD or MST).
