Texas Regional Physicians (TRP) is a physician-led, multi-specialty medical group serving communities throughout the greater Houston area. TRP operates a network of outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgical facilities, and hospital-affiliated practices, providing comprehensive orthopedic and musculoskeletal care. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a collegial, physician-driven practice culture that supports clinical autonomy, work-life balance, and long-term career growth.

Position Summary

Texas Regional Physicians is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Extremity Physician to join our growing orthopedic team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic and surgical care for conditions affecting the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand) and/or lower extremity (hip, knee, ankle, and foot), including trauma, sports-related injuries, degenerative conditions, and post-operative rehabilitation. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic-based patient care and surgical procedures across TRPG's network of outpatient and ambulatory surgical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with upper and/or lower extremity orthopedic conditions, including fractures, joint disorders, sports injuries, and degenerative disease.

• Perform surgical procedures including joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, fracture repair, and soft-tissue procedures as clinically indicated.

• Provide non-operative management such as bracing, injections, and physical therapy referrals when appropriate.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in compliance with TRPG documentation standards and applicable regulations.

• Collaborate with primary care physicians, physical therapists, physician assistants, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

• Participate in on-call rotation for orthopedic trauma coverage as assigned.

• Supervise and mentor advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs) and residents/fellows as applicable.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and departmental meetings.

• Maintain compliance with hospital bylaws, credentialing requirements, and TRP clinical protocols.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.

• Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program.

• Fellowship training in Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Foot & Ankle, Hand & Wrist, or Sports Medicine strongly preferred.

• Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).

• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start date).

• Current DEA registration.

• Eligibility for hospital privileges at TRP-affiliated facilities in the Houston area.

• Strong clinical, surgical, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based orthopedic care.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including productivity-based incentives.

• Partnership/shareholder track available.

• Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, and vision insurance.

• Retirement plan with employer contribution (401(k) or profit-sharing).

• Medical malpractice (occurrence-based) coverage.

• Paid time off and CME allowance with dedicated CME days.

• Relocation assistance and sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.

• Support staff, advanced practice providers, and administrative infrastructure provided.

Practice Environment

TRP physicians practice out of modern, well-equipped outpatient clinics and partner with leading Houston-area hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers. The group offers access to advanced imaging, in-house physical therapy, and a robust referral network across primary care and specialty practices throughout the region. Houston offers a low cost of living relative to other major U.S. metro areas, a diverse and vibrant community, excellent schools, and a wide range of cultural, culinary, and outdoor recreational opportunities.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a current CV, copy of medical license, and a cover letter describing areas of clinical interest to the Texas Regional Physicians Provider Recruitment Team.
