Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) The Orchards Michigan, located in SOUTHGATE, MI is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team. Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Duties and Responsibilities: Hiring new nurses and overseeing the onboarding process by training them or assigning them to a trainer Creating schedules to ensure that departments have adequate nursing coverage for every shift Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues Monitoring expenses to ensure that the facility operates within budgetary constraints Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status Conducting employee evaluations that identify nurses’ strengths and areas of improvement Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up to date Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications and Skills: Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, patients and patients’ families Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and federal, state and local healthcare laws Strong written communication skills to compile reports and write evaluations Analytical skills to interpret diagnostic information and financial data Coaching skills to help nurses continue to improve their performance Time management and multitasking skills to complete many tasks throughout the day Problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles in delivering patient care and maintaining staff coverage Ability to use electronic health records, word processing, spreadsheet and email software Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance Long-Term and Short-Term Disability Vacation and Paid Sick Time 401K Tuition Reimbursement #J-18808-Ljbffr The Orchards at Southgate
