Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability after disease, injury, or loss of a body part. They develop personalized treatment programs using physical modalities such as exercise, massage, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electricity, as prescribed by physicians. Key duties include conducting diagnostic tests, guiding patients through active and passive exercises, re-educating muscles, and training gait and functional movements with equipment like ultrasound, diathermy, whirlpools, and assistive devices. The therapist performs initial and re-evaluations, documents progress, and may supervise staff or train students and workers in therapy techniques. Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), licensure as a Physical Therapist, and certifications in BLS and Pelvic Health (preferred). Experience expectations include a specified number of years and relevant experience, with required certifications obtained within 90 days if not already held.
