Job Description
Cooper University Health Care is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving residents and visitors throughout Cape May County. The system includes Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional; three urgent care facilities; nearly 30 primary care and specialty care offices in multiple locations throughout Cape May County; The Cancer Center at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional; the Claire C. Brodesser Surgery Center; AMI at Cooper, Miracles Fitness and numerous freestanding outpatient facilities providing wound care, lab, and physical therapy services. Experience Required
- Responsible for setting up the patient in the exam room.
- Perform and Document:
- Vital signs (manual BPs)
- EKGs
- Reconciliation of medications
- Reason for visit, health care concern
- Interview/Discuss with patient changes in patient's health since the last visit
- Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures.
- Prepare appropriate medications for injections.
- Responsible for phone messages, faxes, and Medical Reception responsibilities as needed.
- Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, computer skills for scheduling, and familiarity with general office procedures and equipment.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certificate Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification
License/Certification Requirements
- Certificate Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification
Special Requirements
- Ability to handle high volume of interactions with frequent interruptions required.
- 1-3 years of prior experience in ambulatory care preferred.
