Senior Manager, Human Resources

The Senior Human Resources Manager supports the hotel by promoting, communicating and implementing human resources strategies and initiatives; performs various human resources duties in areas such as training, employee relations or other special projects; and partners with management teams to facilitate the delivery of HR services as appropriate. The HR Manager also serves as contact for employees and answers questions regarding HR policies and procedures. Work with management and employees to resolve performance and employee relations issues. Extensive involvement in employee relations including representing the hotel in employment-related claims, e.g. EDD, EEOC, etc. Consult with management on compensation and benefits issues. Work with the staffing department to ensure open positions are filled in a timely manner. Work heavily with the training department to ensure that employee training is delivered to meet organization needs. Collaborate with HR centers of expertise (Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Comp/Benefits, HR Operations, Compliance) for service delivery to clients. Provide project support to the Director of Human Resources. Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations: Bachelor degree in HR, Business, Management, or related field. Minimum of seven(7) years of recent HR management experience working with employee relations, training, federal, state, and local employment laws (California). SPHR or PHR certification preferred. Experience driving strategic HR process improvements & projects. Excellent employee relations skills with emphasis on non-exempt populations. Strong understanding of California employment law. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
