Senior Operations Manager (Multifamily)

Job Overview The Senior Operations Manager will serve as a key operational resource to property teams and senior leadership by supporting day-to-day site operations, leading due diligence and management transition activities for acquisitions, assisting with lease-ups and stabilization efforts, and ensuring operational consistency across the portfolio. Key Responsibilities Provide interim operational support at assigned communities, including temporarily assuming responsibilities of a Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, or Leasing Manager during staffing transitions, leave coverage, lease-ups, or operational needs Support and mentor on-site teams to ensure operational excellence, strong customer service, and compliance with company standards and policies Partner with Portfolio Managers and executive leadership to identify operational challenges and implement corrective action plans Lead operational due diligence efforts for prospective acquisitions, including: Physical site walks and unit inspections Operational and file audits Review of staffing structures and operational processes Identification of operational risks and value-add opportunities Coordination with internal departments and third-party vendors during diligence Lead and coordinate property management transitions for newly acquired communities, including: Pre-close operational planning Transition meetings and department coordination Setup of operational systems and procedures Team onboarding and training Post-transition operations stabilization Assist with lease-up communities to ensure leasing goals, customer experience standards, and regulatory requirements are achieved Conduct site inspections, operational audits, and file reviews and provide recommendations for operational improvements Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives for on-site teams Support implementation and adoption of company systems, technology platforms, and operational best practices, including Yardi, CRM IQ, and other operational software Review property performance metrics including occupancy, collections, resident satisfaction, maintenance performance, and online reputation scores Develop and implement operational and marketing recommendations for communities experiencing occupancy or performance challenges Foster strong internal and external relationships with residents, team members, ownership groups, vendors, and business partners Maintain a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability Travel extensively throughout the portfolio as needed, including overnight travel Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required.
