Engineering Services Specialist

Responsibilities The engineer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing across multiple facilities, continuous monitoring of building operations, ensuring proper functioning and safety, and coordinating contractor activities. Daily tasks include: Monitor and maintain all building systems (fire/life safety, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical). Perform preventive maintenance on MEP equipment. Install and repair electrical controls, switching equipment, motor controls, conduit, and wiring. Conduct routine system rounds, record readings, analyze data, and adjust as needed. Install, rebuild, and repair pumps, motors, air compressors, heat exchangers, bearings, and seals. Oversee contractor activities, ensuring training and compliance with critical facility work authorization procedures. Maintain detailed engineering logs and documentation. Respond to emergency conditions, analyze problems, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, The Critical Awareness Process, and safety procedures. Requirements Hands‑on experience in facility operations (chilled water systems, emergency generators, switchgear). High school diploma or GED equivalent. Universal Technician certification for CFCs (or obtain within 90 days). Ability to work variable shifts in a 24/7 environment (nights, weekends, emergency response). Proficiency in English reading/writing and basic mathematics. Knowledge of OSHA and state regulations governing powerhouse operations. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally; stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl regularly. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating and maintaining building electrical, instrumentation, and control systems (PLC, BAS). Working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Excellent internal and external customer service record. Experience with hand tools, portable electric and pneumatic tools, rigging equipment (winches, hoists, slings). Benefits 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
