Senior Technical Architect / QA-QC Lead

Ròhme Architects is a Los Angeles-based architecture and interiors studio working across residential, commercial, hospitality, and adaptive reuse projects throughout California and select projects nationwide. We are seeking a highly organized and technically rigorous architect to support project delivery, permitting, construction Documentation, and studio growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, coordinating complex projects, and helping establish standards within a growing practice. Responsibilities include technical oversight of construction documentation, consultant coordination, permitting, plan check responses, feasibility studies, zoning and code research, RFIs, submittals, QA/QC reviews, and general project support from early planning through construction. As an emerging design practice, this position offers meaningful responsibility, direct collaboration with firm leadership, and the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future of the team. We are seeking a long-term collaborator interested in growing alongside the studio as our project portfolio continues to expand. Qualifications 12+ years of professional architectural experience preferred Strong experience producing residential and commercial permit and construction document sets Extensive knowledge of California permitting processes and building codes Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently California licensure strongly preferred Position Part-time independent contractor (1099) Remote or hybrid (Los Angeles preferred) Compensation: $75–125/hour, commensurate with experience To Apply Please submit a resume, portfolio, representative residential and commercial permit/construction document examples, desired hourly rate, and weekly availability.
