Automation and PLC Test Specialist
Express Employment Professionals – Kalispell, MT (Local Client)

Pay: $25–$35/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-time (day shift – details provided during interview)
- Run final tests on completed equipment to confirm quality and customer specifications
- Configure electrical components, firmware, and communication settings between PCs and industrial devices
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, PLC, and software issues to root cause
- Validate safety systems: EPOs, interlocks, and alarms
- Teach and calibrate robotic axes for reliable automated operation
- Prove out valves, pumps, fluid flow, automation functions, and customer recipes
- Execute final quality audits and document outcomes comprehensively
- Partner with Engineering and Production; participate in customer inspections and demos
- Model safe practices and drive continuous improvement
- 4+ years building, testing, or troubleshooting electromechanical equipment
- Proven electrical and mechanical troubleshooting expertise
- Experience with PLC-controlled systems and test execution
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings
- Experience establishing PC-to-equipment communications
- Windows, Microsoft Office, and Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving
Preferred: Background in manufacturing or industrial equipment testing
Tools & Platforms- PLC systems and industrial computers
- Multimeters and electrical test instruments
- General hand tools
- Robot teach pendants
- Manufacturing/automation equipment
- Microsoft Office suite
- Technical degree, trade school, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders; perform fine motor tasks
- Operate around machinery, electrical systems, and manufacturing equipment
- Wear PPE consistently; safety-first environment
- Fast-paced production floor with tight deadlines
- Occasional travel may be required
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
