Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our urgent care team on a locum basis. The ideal candidate must be local, with the ability to travel within a 60-mile radius of their residence, and possess at least 12 months of relevant clinical experience in urgent care settings treating both adult and pediatric patients (6 months+). This provider will be the sole healthcare professional at the center during their shift, handling a high volume of patients efficiently while maintaining a positive and compassionate attitude that aligns with our culture of delivering high-quality healthcare.


Key Responsibilities:

• Treat and manage all patients aged 6 months and up, including adults and pediatrics.
• Perform minor procedures such as I&D, lac repairs, ear irrigations, and more.
• Use Epic EMR system for all charting and patient documentation, with required training provided.
• Enforce credentialing requirements and complete all onboarding steps prior to scheduled shifts.
• Maintain excellent soft skills to foster a supportive environment with staff and patients.
• Comply with all operational protocols, including patient volume management and high-quality care standards.

Requirements:

• Board Certification or NCCPA Certification for PAs / Family Nurse Practitioner Certification for NPs.
• BLS certification, NC DEA license.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in urgent care or similar medical setting.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR.
• Must pass clinical screening and complete EMR training prior to first solo shift.
• Ability to participate in mandatory training sessions (Wednesdays).
• No supervision required; provider will operate independently.
• Willingness to work within a 60-mile radius of home residence.

Support Staff:

• Center Manager, Medical Assistants, Patient Service Assistants, Supervising Physician (offsite for APPs).
