The EWP Sawyer I will operate and maintain cutting equipment for the Engineered Wood Products (EWP) department. This person is responsible for cutting materials with precision and ensuring equipment functionality, as well as inspecting the final products for quality assurance. What You Will Do Operate, calibrate and maintain saws to cut wood pieces for EWP components including roof, floor, I-joist, or LVL systems. Monitor inventory and flow of materials and supplies relating to assembly process. Inspect and ensure equipment functionality daily to prevent malfunctions and notify leader of any equipment issues. Interpret shop drawings and/or computerized production software. Examine final products to ensure they meet quality standards. Organize and store materials efficiently. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations. Required For All Jobs Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Vocational training in woodworking or machinery preferred Experience Qualifications 1-3 years of industry / EWP sawyer experience preferred Experience in operating cutting machinery Hands-on experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred Skills and Abilities Ability to operate equipment such as automated saws, staplers, nail guns, routers, various saws, and a crane. Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer. Ability to troubleshoot/problem-solve. Effective communication within the team and ability to follow instructions. Ability to maintain a high level of compliance to quality and safety standards.
