Job Description
Join a brand-new, highly automated food manufacturing facility as a Production Associate, providing hands-on support to machine operators in producing high-quality protein bars. This direct hire role offers stable, full-time hours, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to help launch and grow a new plant. You will work across both processing and packing areas, performing a variety of general production and loading tasks in a climate-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Support machine operators throughout the production process to ensure consistent and efficient output of protein bars.
- Load raw ingredients into mixing machines according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Load melt and chocolate into melt machines while maintaining cleanliness and product quality.
- Wash and clean trays regularly to support continuous production and maintain hygiene standards.
- Load materials into wrapper machines to keep packaging lines running smoothly.
- Load sprinkles and other toppings or inclusions as required by production specifications.
- Assist with packing finished products, ensuring correct quantities, labeling, and quality checks.
- Work on both processing and packing sides of operations as needed, adapting to changing production demands.
- Stand and remain on your feet throughout the shift while performing general labor and production line tasks.
- Follow all food production and food processing guidelines to support a safe and compliant environment.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as they are implemented in the facility.
- Assist in setting up, supporting, and stabilizing production processes in a startup plant environment.
- Communicate clearly with team members and machine operators to coordinate tasks and resolve production issues quickly.
- Participate in on-the-job training to learn new processes, equipment, and procedures as the plant ramps up.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, tools, and surrounding production spaces.
- Experience in food production, food processing, or other production environments is desired.
- Background in general labor, general production, or production line work.
- Ability to perform loading tasks, including loading ingredients, materials, and products throughout the shift.
- Experience with packaging or working on packaging lines in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication skills to help support plant startup and ensure production runs smoothly.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a startup environment with evolving processes and shift schedules.
- Comfort standing on your feet for the entire shift and performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Willingness to work across both processing and packing areas as needed.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and food handling guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility or similar production environment.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or willingness to learn and apply them as they are introduced.
- Comfort working with highly automated equipment and adapting to new technologies.
- Ability to contribute to a new plant launch by supporting new processes and operational changes.
- Openness to working different shifts, including potential transition to a second shift as operations expand.
This opportunity offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a stipend toward steel toe or composite footwear, multiple medical plan options with no high-deductible plans, and medical, dental, and vision coverage through a major health provider. Benefits begin on the first of the month, and employees accrue 15 paid time off days and 6 sick days. A 401(k) plan is available after 90 days with a 100% match up to 4%. You will work in a brand-new, climate-controlled facility with new equipment and a high level of automation, and you will have the chance to be part of building and shaping operations from the ground up.
Work Environment
The role is based in a brand-new, highly automated food production plant focused on manufacturing protein bars. The facility is climate controlled with both air conditioning and heat to protect ingredients and ensure a comfortable work setting. You will work under food production and food processing standards, with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) being implemented as the plant matures. Operations cover both processing and packing, and you will rotate or support both areas as needed. Training is provided on the job, with a strong emphasis on learning new processes and equipment as the plant ramps up. Currently, portable bathrooms are set up outside the plant while permanent restrooms and plumbing are being completed. The initial shift runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. In the coming months, the shift will transition to either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A second shift is planned to launch around July or August, with potential hours of 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and candidates who are open and flexible to move to a second shift are especially valued. The work requires being on your feet throughout the day and supporting machine operators rather than directly operating the machines.
