RN CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 10-Hour Shifts (07001700 or 09001900) | 40 Hours per Week | On-Site | Call Required, Including Weekend Call

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Circulating Nurse, managing overall nursing care in the operating room and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions as needed
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon and manage surgical equipment and specimens during procedures
• Perform sponge and supply counts in collaboration with the surgical team to prevent retained foreign objects
• Provide direct patient care in a 1:1 RN-to-patient ratio across a 7-suite CVOR environment
• Support a broad range of procedures including CABG, valve repair and replacement, TAVR, LVAD placement, open and endovascular vascular repairs, and thoracic surgeries such as VATS, open thoracotomy, and robotic-assisted procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior CVOR experience with demonstrated ability to circulate in cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Ability to fulfill on-call requirements, including weekends

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced cardiac procedures such as TAVR, LVAD placement, and robotic-assisted valve surgery
• Familiarity with thoracic procedures including VATS, esophageal repairs, and bronchoscopy
• Experience in a high-volume, multi-suite cardiovascular operating room environment
