By serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA, you will help United Way increase awareness of programs and opportunities among families experiencing economic hardship or communities that face barriers to accessing early learning, literacy, workforce development, or financial-stability resources by creating sustainable communications resources that inspire action, increase awareness, and build stronger communities. The work we do is only reflective in the stories we tell. United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) is seeking a creative, mission-driven Content Creator & Storyteller AmeriCorps VISTA to help expand access to education and opportunity across Northern Nevada. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about photography, videography, writing, and digital media who wants to use their talents to create lasting community impact. Rather than providing direct service, this AmeriCorps VISTA member will build the organization’s long-term marketing and communications capacity by creating sustainable storytelling systems and multimedia resources that will continue benefiting the community long after the service year ends. Member Duties As the Content Creator & Storyteller VISTA, you will build a library of evergreen content and organize digital assets to strengthen long-term communications capacity. To build the evergreen library, you will develop videos, photography, graphics, and written content for social media, websites, email campaigns, presentations, and outreach, and then pilot the content for sustainability by gauging engagement. Additionally, you will support Nevada Ready! Pre-K enrollment through piloting engaging multimedia campaigns that increase awareness and connect families to early learning opportunities. You will pilot fundraising videos and visual assets for United Way’s signature event and pilot recruitment campaigns for programs like United Readers, United Pathways, and United Learners.
