Phlebotomist Spanish Speaking

Location: Asheville, NC | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 7:30am-4:30pm M-F, contract role with a projected duration of 3 months | Compensation: Not specified Overview A healthcare services organization is seeking a Spanish-speaking phlebotomist with geriatric experience to support specimen collection operations on a contract basis. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant blood draws and specimen handling for patient care. What you'll do Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data and decontamination activities Update patient information as needed Collect and store specimens according to established procedures Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods (e.g., urine or fecal) as required Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles Fully understand and follow physicians' orders Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy Package specimens for transport Store specimen samples at required temperatures, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label, and follow protocol-specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations Attend annual department trainings Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries Required qualifications Must speak Spanish Requires geriatric experience Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required in some states Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Minimum 2 years of experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite High School Diploma or GED Compensation and benefits Benefits are available Why this role This contract position, scheduled 7:30am-4:30pm M-F for 3 months, offers benefits available, allowing a skilled phlebotomist to apply Spanish-language and geriatric care experience in a fast-paced clinical setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
