Construction Accountant

Construction AccountantWe are seeking a Construction Accountant to join an excellent contracting company in Greensboro. This role will be primarily focused on job costing and managing the accounting for different construction jobs being completed. An ideal candidate will have 3+ years of construction accounting experience, AIA billing experience, and SAGE 100 experience.ResponsibilitiesManage all accounting activities for assigned construction projects.Review and process project-related invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and contract balances.Prepare and submit owner billings, AIA payment applications, and progress invoices.Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on collections for outstanding project payments.Process subcontractor pay applications and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.Maintain and track change orders, retainage, and lien waivers.Assist with monthly job cost reviews and analyze project profitability.Prepare Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and assist with project forecasting.Reconcile project accounts and investigate cost variances.Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget adherence.Support month-end and year-end close processes.Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, retainage, contract billing, and WIP reporting.Experience with construction accounting software such as Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Foundation, Sage 100 Contractor, Sage Intacct Construction, or similar ERP systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial reporting.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Experience with AIA billing and percentage-of-completion accounting.Knowledge of subcontract management and construction contracts.Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per yearSearch managed by: Will Stevens Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to applyThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:The California Fair Chance ActLos Angeles City Fair Chance OrdinanceLos Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for EmployersSan Francisco Fair Chance OrdinanceMassachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
