Senior Accountant

A growing manufacturing organization in Orchard Park, NY is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This full-time position offers a salary range of $70,000–$75,000, depending on experience, along with excellent healthcare benefits, a 401(k) with profit sharing, and unlimited PTO.

This Senior Accountant role is being created to support a Controller and CFO who are looking to gradually transition key accounting responsibilities to a capable accounting professional. Initially, the position will focus on core accounting functions, reconciliations, month-end close support, and financial reporting. Over time, there will be significant opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow within the organization.

The ideal Senior Accountant candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to build a long-term career within a stable company that continues to invest in growth and modernization.

This is an onsite position in Orchard Park, NY.

Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
• Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis for leadership
• Support sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements
• Help document and improve accounting procedures and workflows

Operational Accounting Support

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Review coding, approvals, and transaction accuracy
• Monitor aging schedules and assist with follow-up activities
• Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Experience supporting month-end close processes
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Manufacturing or industrial industry experience is helpful but not required
