Summary:
Under general supervision, provides direct evidence-based, culturally congruent behavioral health services as a collaborative and valued member of a behavioral health care team. Services provided may include behavioral health screening, assessment, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and clinical supervision.

Responsibilities:

Facilitates client centered and culturally congruent individual, family, and group counseling/psychotherapy, screening, assessment, and crisis intervention services utilizing evidence-based modalities. Coordinates client care, conducts treatment planning, and engages in behavioral health outreach and consultation. Advocates for client rights and actively seeks and accepts clinical supervision/consultation. Demonstrates behavior consistent with professional code of ethics (APA, NASWA, NCA, BHA), professional standards, agency policies, and the law. Maintains healthy and appropriate professional boundaries and behavior. Completes routine charting to include behavioral health assessments and progress notes. Ensures timely, accurate, and efficient completion. Maintains records consistent with organizational Policy and Procedures, Medicaid, and other applicable regulations. Ensures that confidential material/records/correspondence is kept secure and that individual client confidentiality is maintained according with HIPPA requirements. Performs all duties in a respectful, kind, safe, timely, equitable, client-centered, and culturally-attuned fashion in order to help clients achieve wellness and autonomy. Serves as a collaborative and helpful colleague who promotes a supportive and positive work environment for colleagues. Participates in continuing education activities to enhance professional development and maintain currency of clinical knowledge, techniques, and licensure. Performs other duties as assigned.

Therapist II

Supervises practicum students and provides on-call clinical supervision and crisis intervention during regular business hours. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skill in operating a personal computer, utilizing a variety of software applications; including Video Teleconference (VTC) and teleconference equipment for tele-behavioral-health appointments with clients, and other office equipment.

Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with clients and community members.

Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.

Therapist II

Knowledge of clinical supervision models.

Skill in supervising other behavioral health providers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

All

Master's degree (MA/MS) in Psychology, Social Work or related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Therapist I Non-Supervisory - Two (2) years experience providing behavioral health clinical services.

Therapist II Non-Supervisory - Four (4) years experience in providing behavioral health clinical services.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

Therapist I CHAPCB BHA Practitioner Certification within six months of hire.

Therapist II Active State of Alaska Behavioral Health License (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Psychologist)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Experience in the Alaska Tribal Health System.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

Therapist I CHAPCB BHA Practitioner Level Certification.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pursue an ongoing professional development plan including formal training certification as recommended by the department. If not already a certified BHA, may be required to complete and maintain BHA certification within set timeline with renewal every two years at employer's expense.
