Driver Helper

Johnson Service Group has an immediate need in Bangor, ME for a Driver Helper. This is scheduled to be a 2+ Month temporary assignment 40+ hours a week. This position requires regular lifting of 40 lbs. Job Responsibilities Assisting the driver in the safe, on‑time delivery and sales of ice and related products including merchandising of individual bags and full pallets. Applying safe work practices in all deliveries and operational practices. Delivering exceptional customer service to all Arctic Glacier’s customers. Reviewing paperwork daily for neatness and accuracy. Ensuring cleanliness of delivery vehicle (interior and exterior). Candidate Qualifications High School Diploma required. 1 year’s experience working in a distribution environment considered an asset. 1 year’s experience working in a similar role considered an asset. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Basic math and cash handling skills. Superior customer service skills. Adaptability to meet the needs of the business. Will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business. Equipment / Machines Used Hydraulic lift gates (if applicable). POS handheld units. Material handling equipment such as manual and electronic pallet jacks. Travel Requirements Overnight travel not required. Intra‑ and interstate travel may be required. Physical Requirements Lift 50 lbs repeatedly. Load and unload trailer. Push and pull using material handling equipment up to 300 lbs repeatedly. Must be able to safely enter/exit the cab and tail of the delivery vehicle repeatedly. Payrate and Benefits Payrate is $17.00 per hour.
