Data Specialist

Overview CGI is seeking a meticulous and driven Data Analyst to join our data informatics team. The candidate will transform data into meaningful information that drives decision-making across departments, communicate findings effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Requirements Snapshot Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Strong Data Analyst knowledge Strong Python knowledge Windows OS level and Unix scripting knowledge Oracle Database knowledge Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field Desired qualifications/non-essential skills: Industry knowledge in sectors such as Government and Aviation preferred Responsibilities Gather data from various sources (databases, APIs, files), ensuring data quality and completeness Prepare data for analysis by cleaning, filtering, and transforming it into a usable format, ensuring accuracy and consistency Apply statistical and analytical techniques to interpret data, identify trends, patterns, and relationships to uncover insights for decision-making Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to present findings and communicate insights to stakeholders Use data-driven approaches to solve complex business problems, optimize processes, and improve efficiency Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Filter and clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs Locate and define new process improvement opportunities Compensation and Benefits CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $198,400.00.
