To modernize and migrate a platform for an energy sector client, the full-time Senior Java Software Engineer will engage in hands-on development using Java and Spring Boot while adopting AI tools in the software development lifecycle, working remotely from the US or Canada. Key responsibilities Develop and modernize backend systems using Java and Spring Boot Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and navigate project ambiguities Integrate AI tooling into the software development lifecycle effectively Required qualifications 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience Strong proficiency in Java, with experience in Spring Boot and/or JBoss Demonstrated experience or strong interest in AI tooling for software development Consultative approach with the ability to influence change Availability to start by September 8th, 2026, and work standard Eastern Time hours Virtual Vocations Inc
