ICU Registered Nurse (MICU) – Nights, 36 Hours/Week, Every Other Weekend

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7p–7a) | Every Other Weekend Required | 36 Hours/Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III Trauma Center, managing a wide range of high-acuity adult diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleed, cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, and substance abuse/overdose
• Maintain an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU based on patient acuity
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients with telemetry competency
• Read and interpret telemetry strips accurately in both ICU and Med/Surg settings
• Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours per day

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of continuous Adult ICU (MICU) experience required
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2+ years of continuous MICU experience in a single facility
• Prior experience with EPIC EMR
• Experience caring for patients with complex diagnoses such as cardiogenic shock, respiratory failure, or severe psychiatric conditions
