Internship Program 2026 - East Region
Sound
Internship Opportunity
Expand on your education and improve your community as an unpaid intern or unpaid practicum student with Sound! Sound offers various mental health and substance use disorder services to clients at several locations in the East region of the Greater Seattle area.
Our East region consists of three locations and various different programs:
- Bel-Red - Adult Services & Child and Family Services
- Redmond - Adult Services & Child and Family Services
- Snoqualmie - Adult Services & Child and Family Services
Adult Services programs at Sound provide comprehensive, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based outpatient services to adults with a variety of Behavioral Health and psychosocial needs. Services include individual and group counseling, case management, medication management, crisis stabilization, integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, recovery support, and health and wellness support. They are based on principles of recovery, trauma-informed care, inclusivity, and multicultural counseling. Interns will be exposed to training and learning opportunities to best understand the work in community mental health, learn about a wide range of mental health conditions, work with a diverse population, people with a documented disability, serious mental illness (SMI), and people of diverse cultural backgrounds. Interns will shadow and observe other clinicians in different roles and grow and develop their own counseling skills as they begin to work with clients to meet their needs.
Child and family services (CFS) programs at Sound provide a wide variety of high-quality and evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, young adults, caregivers, and families to address depression, anxiety, trauma impact, and behavior management. Services include individual, family, and group therapy, case management, advocacy, parent support and education, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management, and are provided in our offices both in person and virtually, in local schools we partner with, and in the community. Interns will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working with medical providers, community supports (including DCYF, JRA, DV advocates, and school staff), and other clinicians supporting the family to provide strengths-based, client-centered care.
Internship Requirements:
