Your Role on the Team Position Summary The incumbent provides high quality customer service to patients calling to obtain medical services at UC Irvine Medical Center. Serves as a preceptor for new staff. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Minimum 6 months of experience working in a call center setting plus 12 months experience working in a healthcare setting or 12 months experience working in a call center in a healthcare setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Demonstrated experience working with a patient registration software system Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
