Quality Analyst

This is an Onsite position in Richmond, VA. You must be able to work onsite from day One of the contract. Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Quality Analyst who will combine business systems analysis, software quality assurance, and test automation to ensure technology solutions meet business needs. Depending on experience, this position can range from an early-career analyst working under senior guidance to a senior-level Quality Analyst independently solving complex systems problems, aligning technology with business strategy, and mentoring less-experienced analysts. The Quality Analyst will research business/user needs, document requirements, create and execute test plans, identify and track defects, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with business and IT teams. More experienced candidates will identify opportunities for test automation and develop or enhance automation frameworks using technologies such as Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript . Top 4 Skills Software QA & Testing – Test planning, test case creation/execution, defect management, root-cause analysis, and quality assurance. Business Systems Analysis – Requirements gathering, business-process analysis, problem identification, and translating business needs into technology solutions. Test Automation – Playwright/Selenium, automation frameworks, Java, and TypeScript, particularly for QA2/QA3. Business & IT Communication – Ability to work with business users, developers, IT teams, and stakeholders while building credibility and trust. Level Breakdown Level Experience Primary Focus Quality Analyst 2 3+ years Independent BA/QA work, root-cause analysis, automation candidates/scripts, multiple projects Quality Analyst 3 5+ years Complex systems analysis, automation frameworks, strategic alignment, multi-project work, mentoring Responsibilities Research business and user needs and identify root causes of problems. Document business requirements and recommend system modifications. Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Create, maintain, and execute test plans based on requirements. Identify, document, track, and help resolve software defects. Perform root-cause analysis when appropriate. Determine which test cases are suitable for automation. Maintain automated test scripts. At the QA3 level, develop and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript . Work closely with business users and IT teams. Support multiple project assignments at QA2/QA3 levels. Align technology solutions with business needs and strategies at the senior level. Guide less-experienced Business Systems Analysts at QA3. Qualifications Candidates should bring strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The client emphasizes self-starters who can manage competing priorities and build trust with business customers. For QA2 and QA3 , you will need proficiency with HTML, XML, Java, and TypeScript , along with familiarity with React or Next.js . A bachelor's degree is expected, preferably in Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics , although approximately four years of related progressive experience may substitute for the degree. #J-18808-Ljbffr Capstone IT
