Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care in a high-volume OR environment averaging 35–50 cases per day with turnovers expected in under 20 minutes
• Circulate and/or scrub across multiple surgical service lines including Cardiac/Peripheral Vascular, Neurology, Orthopedic Trauma, Robotics, Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Transplants, ENT, and Plastics
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including Da Vinci robotic systems, Stealth neuronavigation technology, and Synthes/Stryker orthopedic trauma instrumentation
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio across up to 16 OR suites, with 12–14 routinely running, including reserved trauma capacity as a Level I Trauma Center
• Float across multiple campuses as required and participate in on-call coverage, including weekend call from end of Friday shift through 6:30 AM Monday
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Operating Room experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
• Circulating experience in the OR is required
• Demonstrated experience in General Surgery, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases
• Trauma Level II experience required
• EPIC EMR experience within the previous 3 years
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the previous 15 months — first-time travelers are not eligible
• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission required
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in the OR is highly preferred
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular cases
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
