As a Supply Chain Planner, you will play a critical role in balancing customer demand, inventory investment, production requirements, and supplier performance. This position sits at the center of the operation, partnering closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure materials and products are available when needed while supporting Lean inventory objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical trends, customer requirements, and business inputs. Create and manage supply plans that support production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Monitor demand fluctuations and adjust plans to minimize supply disruptions and inventory imbalances. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to align forecasts with business needs. Analyze inventory levels and recommend actions to maintain service levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. Manage replenishment strategies, safety stock levels, and planning parameters. Monitor inventory health metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. Support initiatives to improve inventory turns and reduce carrying costs. Partner with Manufacturing to support production planning and capacity requirements. Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials and critical components. Identify potential material shortages, capacity constraints, or supply risks and proactively develop mitigation plans. Support new product introductions and engineering changes through effective planning and material management. Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems, including lead times, reorder points, safety stock levels, and planning parameters. Analyze planning performance metrics including forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory performance, and on-time delivery. Develop reports and dashboards that support operational decision-making. Participate in Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning effectiveness and supply chain performance. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, production planning, inventory management, or a related function within a manufacturing environment. Experience working within ERP/MRP systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent). Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or engineered products. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
