Job Description
Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry Services - Winston-Salem, NC Position Details
- Medical Director, 0.9 FTE clinical, 0.1 FTE administrative
- Leadership of inpatient behavioral health services, including 50-bed adult units and CL services
- Day shift, Monday - Friday, plus call rotation
- Adult inpatient unit
- Provide program leadership and oversight of all care provided in Behavioral Health, Psychiatric Services, and psychiatric hospitalist/consultation services
- Represent Psychiatric Services to hospital administration and participate in administrative meetings
- Participate in community-related partnerships
- Act as liaison with Medical Staff to facilitate timely transitions in care
- Facilitate timely consult liaison services for acute care consultations
- Serve as role model and liaison with psychiatric providers, including distribution of workload and call schedule
- Complete daily rounding and timely documentation on assigned patients
- Oversee creation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for hospital-based psychiatric services
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team (providers, nursing, therapy, support staff)
- Provide clinical oversight for hospital-employed independently licensed mental health providers (LPCs, LCSWs, etc.), including crisis hotline, mobile crisis, mobile assessment, telehealth, and assessment center services
- Act as primary supervising physician for psychiatric hospital-employed APP staff Benefits Details
