Medical Malpractice Attorney | Manhattan, NY (Hybrid) – $175K
\n \nLocation/Schedule: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid)
\nBase Salary: $175K, plus a billable bonus and a discretionary bonus
\nPractice: Medical malpractice defense for hospitals, physician groups, and carriers. Obstetrics, surgery, neurosurgery, radiology, emergency medicine. High-exposure files. Not a general-liability seat.
\n \nOur client has defended healthcare providers for more than 100 years. About 90 lawyers. Fifty major healthcare providers. Recent results include a unanimous defense verdict in Westchester and a defense verdict on a post-hysterectomy bowel case in Nassau. 20+ lawyers made the 2026 New York Metro Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists. Most partners are on the malpractice team, which is who you learn from.

What You’ll Actually Do:
\n- \n
- Defend physicians and hospitals in malpractice actions in New York courts. \n
- Coordinate experts and prepare them for deposition. \n
- Take and defend fact and expert depositions. \n
- Draft summary judgment motions and prepare cases for trial. \n
Requirements:
\n- \n
- JD and active New York bar \n
- 2–8 years post-bar medical malpractice defense or complex civil litigation - current Associate, Counsel, or Partner \n
- Deposition or expert-coordination experience is a plus; strong motion writing is required \n
