Doctor of Chiropractic Manhattan Spine Care is a private chiropractic practice in Midtown Manhattan and serves as the largest non‑operative spine service in the city. It is affiliated with the Hospital for Special Surgery, and Douglas Seckendorf, DC, its founder and lead doctor, is on staff at the hospital. The practice style is very collaborative, with multiple doctors often working together on cases. There is a heavy focus on manual traction (flexion‑distraction), soft tissue therapy, and therapeutic exercise. The doctors oversee a team of exercise physiologists and ATCs that assist in taking patients through their rehab exercises. Most patients are referred by surgeons and non‑operative specialists/physicians, and our doctors are expected to collaborate with external physicians on patient care.
