Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS certification required, PALS certification required, TNCC certification required Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred Description: The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care. Develops long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to manage clinical nursing contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with nursing standards, provides care utilizing the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols for administering medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and caregivers. Identifies issues and resources. All newly hired experienced RNs must complete designated onboarding requirements. Skills and competency completion will be achieved with a designated preceptor. Annual competency verification requirements must be completed.
