Architectural Designer / Cabinetry & Kitchen Designer

Full-time

Centered by Design

Company Description Centered by Design is a Chicago-based interior design studio that collaborates closely with clients to align personal taste with the architecture and era of their homes, creating timeless, highly personalized spaces. The team guides clients through a structured design process tailored to individual lifestyles and needs, resulting in homes that reflect the people who live in them. Founded by interior designer Claire Staszak, the firm is known for a holistic approach to design and a particular expertise in restoring homes and crafting functional, soulful kitchens. Claire’s training at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her Certificate of Kitchen and Bath Design from Harper College support the studio’s strong design foundation, and the firm’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Domino, Chicago Tribune, HGTV, LUXE, and other outlets.
Role Description The Architectural Designer / Cabinetry & Kitchen Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL. This team member will collaborate on residential projects, focusing on architectural layouts, detailed cabinetry and kitchen design, and integration of interiors with the existing architecture of the home. Daily responsibilities include developing design concepts, producing construction drawings and elevations, preparing 2D/3D drawings, and coordinating with contractors, vendors, and trades to ensure design intent is executed. The role involves participating in client meetings, refining designs based on feedback, selecting materials and finishes, and preparing presentation documents that clearly communicate proposed solutions. The designer will also support project management tasks such as maintaining documentation, tracking revisions, and helping ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in Construction Drawings and Drawing, including proficiency in creating detailed plans, elevations, and sections.
