Overview GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated fall 2026 intern to support environmental investigation, remediation, and permitting practices in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. Responsibilities Assist engineers, contractors, and clients with data collection, management, and review for environmental projects. Describe and classify soil samples. Collect soil and groundwater samples. Report daily progress and field issues to the task supervisor. Travel to project sites as required. Provide office support: prepare technical memos, reports, construction specifications, and AutoCAD/GIS drawings. Qualifications In pursuit of a BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology. 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus. Strong communication, writing, time‑management, and organization skills. Ability to work well within project teams. Willingness to perform field work in inclement weather. Travel flexibility for field assignments. Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD software is a plus. Prior experience with soil characterization, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling is a plus. Benefits Pay range: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour. Market‑competitive compensation. Physical Requirements Sedentary work with light to moderate physical activity. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs from floor to waist level and from waist level and above.
