Waste Connections is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at our Tampa Transfer Station . This is an excellent opportunity to work with a stable, growing company that offers year-round work, outstanding benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
In this role, you'll operate Dozers, Excavators, Compactors, Trucks, and other heavy equipment while helping keep our transfer station running efficiently and safely.

Schedule Monday - Friday
6:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Saturdays as Needed

What You'll DoAs a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll play a key role in the daily operations of the transfer station by:
Operating Dozers, Excavators, Compactors, Trucks, and other heavy equipment
Spreading and compacting waste using heavy equipment
Spreading daily cover material using a Dozer
Excavating and moving soil with an Excavator
Hauling and transporting materials throughout the facility
Performing equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
Working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Following all company safety procedures and operating standards
Supporting overall site operations and productivity
What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsMinimum 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience
Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment
Satisfactory driving record
Strong commitment to safety
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to read, write, and complete daily reports and assignments
Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Work EnvironmentThis is a hands-on, outdoor position where you'll be working around heavy equipment and active operations.
You should be comfortable:
- Working in the Florida heat
- Operating equipment for extended periods
- Working around moving vehicles and machinery
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety throughout the workday
