Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with MatrixCare is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health.

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health.

Required Skills/Experience: One year of ED experience and charge experience required.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and teaching facility. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details: ED/MedSurg swing unit. Patient ratios: 1 to 4 acute, 1 to 6 swing bed, ED is 1 to 4. Titration of drips required. Uses nebulizers, oxygen via nasal cannula and mask; vent used in the ED for transport to another facility; may use CPAP for swing-bed patients. Telemetry on the unit; ED nurse reads strips.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Flex time.

Floating Requirements: First to float. Will float to ED; may also work charge.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
